Top Races as Election Day Approaches

Races are heating up ahead of Election Day Tuesday of next week. It’s an off year election but there are still pivotal seats to be won or lost nationwide. Let’s take a look of some of the close battles, total blowouts and nail biting face-offs as we close in on November 4th.

New Jersey: Mikie Sherrill (D) vs. Jack Ciattarelli (R)

Governor Phil Murphy (D) termed out of eligibility for Governor of New Jersey. This has opened the door for Jack Ciattarelli to seize an opportunity to become New Jersey’s first republican Governor since Chris Christie.

The polls are neck and neck although Sherrill has been steadily losing steam. She’s been accused of cheating her way through the Naval Academy, has refused to commit to not raise taxes, and was even fined for trading violations while on the House Armed Services Committee.

Ciattarelli is endorsed by President Trump, has received massive ground support from renowned voter activist Scott Presler, and even has the support of a wide swath of Democrat politicians across New Jersey. It would be a slight upset if Ciattarelli loses.

Virginia: Winsome Earle-Sears (R) vs. Spanberger (D)

Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin is up against term limits making Virginia another hotly contested race. Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears seems to have a natural advantage. However, U.S. Rep Abigail Spanberger is putting up a fight, kind of. She was notoriously silent when being questioned in a debate on whether Jay Jones should drop out of the VA Attorney General race after he was caught using violent rhetoric.

Earle-Sears has the support of President Trump, who said she should win, while former President Obama has been busy stumping for Spanberger. Sticking points for any momentum on the side of Spanberger have been accusations that she took $150,000 donation to help gerrymander Virginia electoral maps, and a video that has surfaced showing a staffer of hers using racially charged language.

New York: the World Series of Mayoral Races

Mr. October will lead either the Toronto Bluejays or LA Dodgers to victory in the World Series this week. We’ll have to wait until next week to crown Mr. November as Zohran Mamdani (D), former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Republican Curtis Sliwa square off in a 3 way race for Mayor of New York.

Besides being a self proclaimed socialist, Mamdani has been recently criticized for emphasizing his aunt’s hesitancy to wear a hijab in New York after 9/11, (rather than honoring the real victims.) His father Mohmood Mamdani, a professor and Columbia University, has preached radically anti-American ideology for decades. However, as unelectable as Mamdani seems, the polls are nearly insurmountable in his favor. The most viable plan to defeat him now is to denaturalize him and deport him back to Uganda.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court and CA’s Prop 50

Pennsylvania has an interesting three-for-one going on to decide the majority of their Supreme Court. A simple yes or no vote will determine if 3 current democrat justices are retained.

California’s prop 50 or, Election Rigging Response Act, would put electoral map drawing in the hands of Democrat lawmaker’s instead of with the independent Redistricting Commission.

This Election Day will give us a good indication of what’s ahead for the 2026 midterms. The drama is mounting. So, grab your popcorn, after you’ve voted, and get ready for another historic November 4th.
